The second command is inseparable from the first: love your neighbor as yourself. It starts with seeing others as people of worth, not faces in the crowd.
In a world of distractions, God calls us to a profound truth: love Him above all else. The first and greatest commandment challenges us to make Him first.
'Love your neighbor as yourself' assumes something-that you love yourself rightly. God, others, then us: the order matters, and so does each part.
Loving God leads to obeying Him-and what pleases Him is that we love others. Jesus tied it together: love God, and love your neighbor as yourself.
